As a proud ex-Metro player, touring the US tour way back in 1990, I was keen to bring the official Stockport Metros Website up to date, with a fresh new design, integrated social media, flickr galleries and all sitting on a WordPress backend.
The new site uses HTML5 and CSS3 extensively and is based on the Twitter Bootstrap platform. It is also completely responsive and adaptive, with a layout that changes depending on the user’s device. Great for desktop PCs and Macs, but just as good for notebooks, tablets and smart phones.
Site administration has been streamlined with a series of custom plugins that extend the excellent WordPress 3.4. I’ll be publishing a few of the plugins within the WordPress plugin repository very soon.
So check out the new Metros site, and follow the action live on Twitter as they go on tour on July 19th.
